Trinity Preschool Activities for Friday, January 23, 2015

Oak Room: Pre K class

We read "Mr. Wolf and the three bears" by Jan Fearnley

We did a sorting activity, we sorted hard and soft objects.

We drew pictures in our 3 bears books. We each retold the story and will have our own book.

We had a house shape paper at the easel, and had bear stampers, a girl stamper, and small paint brush so we could make our own 3 bears house .

We did a hot and cold sorting chant, did some hibernation rhymes, and did "Get ready, get set, let's dance" for music time.

We had writing dry erase boards, we did letter Q words and pictures.

Stay and Play:

We did color tissue art. We used "bleeding tissue paper", stampers and wet sponges for art.  The children put pieces of colored tissue paper onto white paper.  Then they took a stamper and pressed it on a wet sponge.  They pressed the stamper onto the tissue paper and when they lifted it up, the color bleeds though to the paper.

We did the ABC letter sounds song, using flash card pictures.
We did a days of the week, a transportation story with props.
We also did "Little bunny foo foo using props

Willow Room:

We read "Chicka, Chicka Boom Boom" by Bill Martin Jr and John Archambault

We glued foam letters onto a coconut tree shape (like the story)

We painted with textured carpet squares at the easel.

We did "Monkey Say, Monkey Do", Lettercise, and Late last night" for music today.

We did "Red mitten, Red mitten, what do you see?

Maple room:

We read "The mitten" by Jan Brett

We mixed corn starch and shaving cream to make "snow" that the children loved playing with today.

We cut out mitten shapes and the children worked on a book for our class: "It said " My mitten was so big a ______ could fit inside.

We talked about what happened to the snow we brought into the classroom. We will watch as it evaporates.

We used the parachute as a pretend mitten and had the children act out the story of the mitten we read today. We sang the mitten in the snow to the tune of the farmer in the dell and used the song to act out the story. Once we had everyone inside the parachute mitten, we had a big sneeze and the parachute came off.

We played other parachute games too with balls.
