Trinity Preschool Activities for Wednesday, October 1, 2014

Maple Room: MWF Class

We read "mouse paint" by Ellen Stoll Walsh

We did color mixing today on white paper with primary colors.  We mixed red, yellow, and blue to make secondary colors.


We painted with red, yellow and blue water colors on white paper.

We did a color mixing experiment. Then the children got to each try it on their own.

We did the October song, and the months song today.

We did a little mouse color rhyme.

We also read " my crayons talk" by Patricia Hubbard

Willow Room: MWF class

We are starting our farm unit

We read "cock a doodle doo, a barnyard hullabaloo " by Giles Andreae

We asked "Have you ever visited a farm?"

We painted with animals tampers on green paper to resemble a farm

We painted with ice cubes made out of paint on paper shaped like farmers overalls.

We did the old McDonald rhyme with a farm puppet mitt.

We made our dramatic play area to be a farm.

We have hay in our sensory table.

We did animal action, b I n g o, and hello everybody, yes indeed for music time today.

Oak room: pre k class

We had a special visitor to our class today, a nurse from Alexian Brothers Hospital who did a healthy kids program.  

We worked on our letter D journals.

We put sand in our paint at the easel today.

We are talking about the sense of touch.

We did "sing a song of senses", and "the little fish" for music time.

Stay and play:

We read "curious George's Dinosaur Discovery" by Margaret and HA Reys 

We made sparkley designs for art.  We dipped different shape containers, square, rectangle, and round into sparkly glitter paint to make shape designs.

We did the shape family rhyme, and we did "shapes" , a movement activity about shapes.

We played a color and shape Bingo game.
