Trinity Preschool Activities for Wednesday, September 25, 2013

Oak Room- 5 day pre- k class

We read "Arthur's Eyes" by Marc Brown
We read the letter C book
We use our sense of sight to see colors

We worked in our journal notebooks on writing the letter C and drawing a picture of something that starts with the letter C.

We had red, blue and yellow to create new colors at the easel.

We did a color experiment to with each child having the opportunity to mix two colors to create a new color.

We had the light table in the room today.

We did "Carl the clown", a color rhyme and "The List of dances" a Jim Gill CD song we dance to and follow the directions,

Maple Room- MWF class

"Little Mouse and the Big Red Apple" by AH Benjamin and Gwyeneth Williamson was our story today.

We made paper bag apples - the children stuffed lunch bags with paper and painted them red.

We had apple stencils with roller brushes at the easel.

We did the September song, A-P-P-L-E, and 5 little apples for music today.

We made a list of what we know about apples, it is posted in the hall. It includes things like grow on trees, has seeds, can make applesauce, make apple pie, they are white inside, they have stems, they get bruised if you drop them" 


Willow Room- MWF class

We read "Yes, we can!" a story on a CD by Sam McBratney

We used foam textured rollers dipped in paint today.

We had magnetic face shapes at the easel to create faces.

We did a 5 little germs rhyme

We added red to the water for water play today.

We did "Can't sit still", "Little Fish" and "What can you do with a bean bag?" for music time today.

Stay & Play

We read "The very noisy night" by Diana Hendry

We painted underneath the tables!  The children laid on their backs, and painted the paper that was taped to the bottom of the table top.  This gave them a unique experience.  They wore goggles and smocks.

We did "Herman the worm", Over the deep blue sea", 5 little apples" and "Way up high in the apple tree" for music today.
