HELP KEEP LENDING LIBRARY OPEN!
Please check at home and return any books you have from our lending library.  We are missing over one hundred books! Borrow, read, return!

If we continue to lose books at this rate, I will not be able to continue the lending library.  PLEASE RETURN THE BOOKS!
Also, thank you to everyone who has donated books to us for our lending library.

Outside play:
We are hoping to go out most days now that the weather is warming up.  Please make sure your kids have coats and good play shoes so we can enjoy the playground safely.

Mother’s Day program
You will receive information from your child’s classroom about specifics, but we invite the mom’s to come for some songs and refreshments at the end of the morning Thursday, May 9 (for Terrific 2’s and 3’s class) and Friday, May 10, for all other classes.  We will still have stay & play on Friday, May 10 for those who want to use it.

Tidbits/Blog/Facebook
Each day the teachers post the day’s activities in the hall in what we call “Today’s tidbits”.  I also take that information and post it daily on our BLOG.  This is handy for those parents who are not here for pick up.  You can even sign up to get the BLOG emailed to you each time I update it.
We have a facebook page too and you do not need to have a facebook account to see ours.

Church Rummage Sale:
Trinity Church holds a rummage sale (like a garage sale) Friday evening, May 3 and all day Sat. May 4.  If you have items you want to get rid of and would like to donate them, you can bring them the week of April 29th.  If you have larger items like furniture, they will arrange to pick them up!
They have some items they can no longer accept – such as computers and TV’s.  I will post the list of acceptable and unacceptable items on the bulletin board. The rummage sale is a great way to find some new treasures too.

Butterflies and Moths
Every year we watch the transformation of caterpillars into chrysalides and then into painted lady butterflies.  The children are fascinated by how quickly the caterpillars grow and change.  This is a great science learning opportunity.  We learn to make predictions, observe, record data, and see if our predictions were correct. Then, we always set them free.

Warm Weather?…..Enjoy the playground.
If you want to plan a play time with classmates, you are welcome to stay after school and use the playground.  Please supervise your children and clean up before you leave.

Fall at Trinity Preschool
All of our morning classes at Trinity are full for fall 2013. But we have a wonderful afternoon class that still has space.
The class will be a mixed age class (3 to 5) from 12:15-2:30.  Please tell everyone you know who is looking for preschool to check out Trinity!

Information will be coming home soon about our fall parent tot class.  It meets on Tuesday mornings from 9:30-11:00 and is for 2 year olds with an adult.

Auction money:
We have purchased a few items for the classrooms using money from the auction, but most of the money this year will be going to safety items.  We are getting more rubber mulch for the playground.  We are purchasing commercial grade doorknobs or the classrooms to replace the ones that have been on the doors for over 40 years.  They are not working well, and we are replacing them with knobs that will also lock from the inside of the classroom in event of a security emergency.   At a cost of about $400.00 per doorknob, it adds up quick.  We also gave some money to the church to help cover expenses like electricity and heat.
We are grateful to everyone who helps make the auction a success so we can afford to make these improvements. A special thanks to the preschool board of directors who put in their time to make the auction successful.

Trinity Preschool Board Members:
Trinity Preschool is a not for profit preschool that has a board of directors who oversee the program. The Director runs the day to day operations, but with the approval of the board.  The board meets once a month to go over important matters and the board also works on the auction.  If you think you might be interested in serving on our preschool board for 2013-2014; please talk to Mary for more details.
