Trinity Preschool Activities for Friday, October 28, 2011

We played outside today.

Stay & Play: We had pumpkin muffins, and baked apples today. We also had some graham crackers. We glued colored popcorn onto paper to create some pictures. We went in small groups to the room next door and played a group game.

Willow Room:

Pick pumpkin, Mrs. Millie! by Judy Cox was our story and we had a guest reader! Pastor Dan read to the children. He will be coming in every few weeks to read.

We did finger painting with shaving cream with powdered paint.

We had magnetic letters at the easel.

We carved our pumpkin today, we put our hands inside and touched hte slippery seeds. It was very fun.

We sang The fish song.

Maple Room:

We read "The legend of Spookley the square pumpkin" by Joe Troiana

We did a cutting project and made Pumpkin lanterns.

We had circle shapes with glue and fall leaf shapes to make wreaths at the easel.

We sang The October song, Pass the pumpkin, List of dances, and Tommy Thumb

We practiced writing the letter C on dry erase boards and we did a story about "The little orange house" story.

Oak Room:

We read "Nothing at all" Denys Cazet and "While the world is sleeping" by Pamela Duncan Edwards

We made masks from paper plates and a variety of materials

ABC puzzle , and the letter G puzzle were out today. We also hid some small plastic bats in rice and the children used tweezers to find the bats.

We did an opposites matching game, and used rhythm sticks to the song, "The ants go marching"

We asked the children what words start with the letter "G"

We carved a pumpkin, but first the children voted for the face they wanted on the pumpkin.
