Willow Room- MWF class

We asked the children today, "How was your vacation?" Our story was "The mitten" by Jan Brett. It is a cute story about how all the animals climb into a mitten in the woods to keep warm on a cold winter night. We did a felt board story about the kitten who lost her mitten too.

We used potato mashers to make colorful prints on wax paper. We will frame them with a mitten shape and use them to decorate our room.

We had watercolors on snowflake shapes at the easel.

We sang "Ring the bells, winter time is here", "Put your finger on", and "Brown Bear"

We played in the gym

Maple Room:

We read "Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What do you hear?" by Bill Martin

We did string painting today at the art table and we had blue and purple paint at the easel.

We sang "The January song", "The months of the year" and the letter sounds song.

We are talking about he letter "K" this week.

We played in the gym today.

Oak Room:

We read a story called "A little bit of winter"

We made "bears" for our cave bulletin board. We painted paper plates brown and added eyes, nose and mouth. We are talking about hibernation so our bears are hibernating in their cave.

We sang "Ten in the meadow, and going on a bear hunt.

We are talking about the letter M this week.
